Colby is a fifth-generation Texan, born in Austin and raised in the Texas Hill Country. He moved to Navarro County several years ago with a commitment to building community, practicing law in a small-town setting, and starting a family. Colby and his wife, Alyssa, were married in 2019 and are proud parents to one son.
